on Jul 14, 2022
Famous author and environmentalist Dr. Sagar Pradhan has made history by entering a campaign to clean up the environment as an individual effort into the India Book of Records (IBR). Adhanga Mallikeswarpur in the Odisha district of Kendrapara is where Dr. Pradhan was born and raised.
He has contributed his book royalties towards tree planting, cleaning up beaches, and restoring tiny lakes and ponds, according to the India Book of Records. Additionally, he has written books and several articles on environmental awareness, single-use plastics, medical waste management, lowering carbon footprint, etc. As announced on May 20, 2021, the United Nations named him "World Environment Day Hero-2020" in recognition of his great work.
Sagar's desire for green led him to try the record. "I want to give something back to our lovely nature, which gave us everything," the speaker said.
Dr. Pradhan was one of the top 3 finalists for the Colt Sustainability Champion award. Keri Guilder, CEO of Colt Technology Services in London, nominated him for the trip to Antarctica with polar explorer Robert Swan and his environmental nonprofit ClimateForce 2041 to learn how we can create a sustainable future for our planet.
